One Nation Underdog – A Review

It’s tough to pick a male performer that is more “in” this season than ZZVioletzz. They’ve made a name for themselves playing hardcore emo, and their videos have been some of the most viral around. This is a band that isn’t afraid to get their views noticed, whether they’re making them on stage or performing them in their own videos. They know that in the internet era everyone wants it now. They make their mark on YouTube with interesting videos and songs that are worth watching.

One of ZZVioletzz’s most popular singles, “Swing” features the beautiful vocal talents of Laura Marling. Laura has done a lot of guest vocals with bands such as Purity Ring and Taking Back Sunday, and she has a nice voice that comes off great when she sings. This song is fun and catchy, and Laura does a fantastic job of going into the role of being a crazy mom as she sings about her children. The video has some very disturbing moments, especially when she sings about hitting her child. It’s entertaining to hear, but definitely not for the faint of heart.

The other single from ZZVioletzz that you should check out is the song “Wake Me Up”. This is the perfect song for a daytime radio show, as it’s catchy and slow. The sound quality on this one is great too, so it’s not something that you’ll have to worry about going deaf. You can even sing along if you’re an avid listener of this type of music. It’s about as far from the country as you can get, but it is still very poppy and enjoyable to hear. You can’t help but feel like you’re going to lose yourself in the song.

ZZVioletzz’s next two songs “Reckless and Easy” and “I’m Going to Leave You” are both great. These are a bit more stripped down versions of the harder songs from the band’s debut album. That’s alright though, because they still sound great. There’s also an excellent instrumental that accompanies these two songs, which makes them all the more memorable and enjoyable.

The last track on ZZVioletzz is called “New Slang”. It’s an alright song that doesn’t really do anything spectacular. It just does what it needs to. I’d call it average, but since this is ZZVioletzz, you’re bound to like it more or less. If you’re looking for some fresh new material to add to your collection, this is a great choice.

All in all, ZZVioletzz is a great album by the band that fans will quickly recognize. With a lot of hits already under their belt, I wouldn’t be surprised if this release didn’t move as well. I would, however, encourage you to add it to your collection so that you can enjoy all of the fantastic songs and music that this group has created. When you’re looking for a new band to listen to, I highly recommend ZZVioletzz.
